(March 16, 2020) The Jackson Purchase Energy (JPEC) headquarters, located at 2900 Irvin Cobb Dr. Paducah, KY has made the decision to close our lobby to the public effective March 16, 2020. As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread, JPEC is taking steps to help protect the health and safety of our consumer-members and employees.
We will continue to monitor local and national reports on the evolving impact of COVID-19. We will base our safety precautions on information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization and local public health agencies.
We feel it is important to be as proactive as possible regarding this disease. With that being said, JPEC has developed a response plan that will help ensure our employees remain healthy so we can continue to provide safe, reliable electric service to our consumer-members.
Below is a listing of four (4) response levels and how these levels will impact the way we do business in the short-term. JPEC is currently operating at a Level 3. Additional steps will also be taken internally that are not referenced in this action plan:
Level 1 – Normal Business Operations
Level 2 – Increased sanitation of our offices. Disinfectant wipes/hand sanitizers for use in the offices. Asking consumer-members to limit office visits voluntarily, especially if you are sick. We offer a variety of ways to pay your bills: automatic bank draft, automatic credit/debit card drafting, the SmartHub App, 24hr-kiosk - accepts cash, checks and credit/debit cards, debit/credit card payments by phone, drive-thru, night deposit or you may pay by the U.S. Postal Service. In addition, new services can be established by calling our business office. Outages can be handled as normal using the SmartHub App or by phone. Visit the Jackson Purchase Energy website for more information on these services.
Level 3 – Visitors will be asked to reschedule and not allowed in buildings. All payments and new services must be handled electronically, through the drive-thru, night deposit or the U.S. Postal Service. Lobby will be closed.
Level 4 – Certain functions of the Co-op are placed on hold, while critical infrastructure is maintained. Business office & Service Dept. will remain open but closed to the general public. All business with members will be conducted electronically.
We will notify the membership if/when a response level is changed. We ask that you share this plan with your family and friends that are served by Jackson Purchase Energy. We pride ourselves on consumer-member interaction, we apologize for any inconveniences that this may cause.
